On Record Breaking Sky Dives

After watching this video:

Shawners, after asking if his stomach would rip through his body and his arms would come off while watching the video, then watching the skydiver land, says, "Imagine if you were him. I'd vomit three times after I landed."

On Mommy's Outfits

Shawners, after seeing my fall outfit with tall boots, a jacket, belt, and scarf tied around my neck, and me asking if it looks okay, with a big head nod: Yes. Really. Yes It's like you're acting like you're a girl in snow, and she's acting like the coolest, and like she's so beast.

On Being A Man

Shawn, opening star bears dog food: How do you open this?
Me: I don't know. You might have to get scissors and cut it open.
Him: Or be a MAN, and rip it open [as he proceeds to rip it open]

On Baby Platypuses

While looking up platypuses pictures online for a school project and coming across the photo below: Oh my goodness it's a fat baby chubby platypus!

Then later: It's a chubby, wubby, baby platypus.

Quote from Shawners: you have a ton of friends, and I remember each one. But I forget who's who.

After asking who Mai was and me showing him a picture of her and he says, "Oooh."

Things you appreciate about yor brother

In your own words:

He doesn't mind me doing things first or letting me have first pick

When I'm afraid to do something you'll do it first for me

He has good aim

He lets me use his things

On Saying Good-bye to his Teacher

Shawners, talking about the create-your-own Starbucks mug I bought for him to give to his teacher that you draw on then bake: "You know what would be sweet? If there was a drink you could drink like if you were sad about your teacher leaving and then you could cry and the tears would make a color on the mug."

Then, a few seconds later...: "I would be a trillionaire if I made that."

Last week, when the entire class cried after hearing the news that their teacher was leaving, except for four kids including Shawners, he tells his teacher: "I wasn't crying on the outside, but I was on the inside."

Email from his teacher:
THANK YOU so much for the cake pop and gift card. That was very thoughtful of you!!! Shawn was so cute yesterday, he told me he wasn't crying on the outside, but was on the inside. I got a big hug!!! Thanks for your support and kind words this year!
